Tulloch Transport History

Tulloch Transport began in 1945 from small rural origins in Mataura. It was here in the lower South Island of New Zealand, that Mac Tulloch purchased a small local truck business on his return from the War.

Since then the company has grown and diversified into all areas of Road Transportation under the leadership of Mac's son Ian (Inky Tulloch). At one stage the company had branches throughout the South Island and in Wellington and Auckland as well. After many success years in line haul cartage, the South Island freight division of Tulloch Transport was sold in 2009.

For the next 10 years Tulloch Transport operated out of Mataura and Christchurch with a focus on specialist transport services.

The latest chapter of Tulloch Transport commenced in mid-2019 when McNeill Distribution purchased the Mataura Tulloch operation to complement its transport business based in Kennington. Company owners Ken and Ross Richardson are committed to the Tulloch brand, and have already started work modernizing the fleet, and refreshing the Tulloch Transport brand.
